Della is a wonderful wife that made a big sacrifice for her husband on Chrismas Eve. Della (the wife) was weread about not giving Jim her husband a preaent for chrismas. she wnt and sackrafired her hair for a present for Jim.
She only had 1.87. sixty cents were in pennys she had saved. In the text she said " twenty dollars are hard to come by". But when she cut her hair off she had a prayer "Please god, make him still think that im still pretty".
She couldnt live through a chrismas with giveing jim a Present. She cried because of her husband was looking at her very wierd with a plain face. After a while he opened his present and it was a watch. And she got a comb set.
