In the story "Gift of the magi" the main idea would be mostly be about Della. She wants to get a present for jim. Della only has $1.87 to buy something for jim. It says that " she been saving every peeny she hadcould for months". She had been planing for somthing nice for him. Somthing just a little bit near to being worthy of the honor of being owned by jim. Della cut her hair and sold it to madame. She got money for it and went shopping for somthing fine and rare and sterling. She was worried that he wasnt going to like the present or think she was pretty anymore.
