somtimes in life bad things happen. somthimes good things happen. then there are the weird things that happen.
have you nver gotten some one a gift for somthing and you have to get rid of somthing but the prersonyou got the your gift for sold the thing and got you somthing for the thing you sold.
lets say you got somone a bike loke but you had to get rid of all your mecanical pencials. so the person you got the loke for got rid of the bike for the best led in the world. that would suck.

Mercedes Gutierrez-Final Exam
Della has been trying to save money, but its hard for her because she doesnt get paid a lot of money and she didnt think that things would be that expensive. So she counted her money like three times and she only had one dollar and eighty seven cents. She was sad that she didnt have any money. The reason why she wants money so bad is because she wants to get her husband Jim something for christmas. She was trying to figure out what shes going to do, and Della had really long hair so she went to this store that that buys peoples hair from them. The people at the store told her that they would give her twenty dollars for her hair. She said yeah so they cut off all of her hair. Now she has the money to buy him a present. She wants something that he would like. She looked everywhere. Then she found a chain that he could use for his watch that he has. So she gets him that. Later on that dayJim goes over and she tells him that she cut off her hair to get him that chain for his watch. Now he gives her the present that he got for her. They are brushes that she really wanted and they were expensive so he had to sell his watch to be able to buy those for her. So now he cant use the present that she got for him, and she cant use the present that he got for her.

The main idea of the story is that della is pretty with long hair.really long hair that could almost touch her kness.well there in the month of christmas and della dosnt have that much money.and she really wats to but her husban jim something.shes really poor this year all she has is $1.87.she wanted to buy jim a really nice present that he would really like but she cant because all she has is $1.87.she cant really buy nothing good with that much money.so she was in here lil downtowm one day and saw a sign that said "hair goods of all kind".she runs up in there and cuts her hair for jus $20.00.she goes to every store to look for that perfect gift for jim.she sees a chain just for jim it was just like him.well she buys it.shes hoping that he would like her new hair and hes new watch she just bought.well she didnt expect that the chain that she got for jim was hes but he sold it to get her a present.but the present that he got for her had to do with her long hair.and now that she dosnt have long hair she cant put those on her.so she cutt her hair for nothing.

Well i think that the main idea is that Della and Jim, both had to sacrafice somthing that they both not only loved but they also value so much and this was all just because they wanted to get each other something for Christmas and so they did what they had to do and they got each other a gift and then they when Della opened her present she was so happy she was like a little kid because she got the thing that she longed for in a long time and well before all that she had saved up at least $1.89 and she was a little sad because she wanted to buy Jim something nice butt she couldn't so she went to this one place and outside of it said that you can sell your hair.
So she did and she got $20 for it and then she went to a different store and she bought a chain for Jim's watch and that costd about $21 in total so when she got home she hurried to her room so she can curl her hair and then she went down stairs to go eat dinner and as so as Jim saw her she kind of freaked out but well she told him that her hair would grow back like really fast so she could use her new combs and then that's when Jim told her that he had to sell his most valued watch for her and you know i think that's sweet because they both gave something up that they value all because they love each other.

The theme of this story was, 'It's the thought that counts.' I think this is the theme because the characters go through a lot to make the other happy. Then they realize that the other did the same.
In the story Jim was only making $20 a week. Della his wife, knew they wouldn't have the Christmas she wanted. Della had been saving all she could to buy Jim a Christmas present. But when it gets close to Christamas she had only saved a dollar and eighty seven cents.
Della then becomes sad because she would not afford anything for Jim. Jim was sad beacuse he had no money to buy anything for Della. Della knew that she would not get enough money in a day. So she went out to see what she could afford with a dollar and eighty seven cents. As Della was leaving her home she see's a flyer that says,"Mme.Sofronie. Hair of all kinds." Della ran up the stairs, and asked the lady if she would buy her hair. Even thought she knew she would look like a boy without her hair, Della thought about how happy JIm would be with is present.
Della did not care how she would look, she just wanted Jim to be happy. Della went out and bought Jim a chain for his watch. When she got home Della got ready for when Jim arrived. Della explained to Jim why she cut her hair and began to cry. Jimtolde her he loved her no matter what.

On the story that I read, my main Idea was "selling a important thins or belongings to buy a good present to a important person in your life."Because in the story they sell one of their belongings to buy a presious gift.

Crystal Flores Theme Final Exam
I believe the theme was that giving is worth much more than receiving a gift. I think its better to give. It shows that you care. Exceptionally when your in love. It means a lot to a person that cares about you as do you to them to give something you value away just to please that person. Its just like Carma when you do something good for someone or something good will come back in return. Its good to sacrifice things for another. Life is filled with ups and downs, smiles and frowns, happiness and sorrow. I think this is the theme because Della sole her hair her most prized position to get a gift for Jim her lover.
